Western Oregon | Dad said he never knew how much he and Mom were worth until they sold out when he was 80. Made a living doing just what he wanted to do. Bought a new house, lived to be 95. Never spent a dime of the farm payments. But I suspect he knew just how "rich" his life was.
He was in a terrible train/truck wreck, no one thought he would live. Drs said he would never work again. He got a second chance, married again at 53, bought a small dairy farm all set up for $18,500, sold out the dairy at 65, bought more land, farmed until he was 80. I was born when he was 56, 2 brothers, 1 older, one younger....James | |
