Scranton
Sounds like a great idea. My son has been running it since he was 12 or so. He's now 17 and is in charge of rolling up cornstalk bales after school and on weekends...need about 1500 of them. He'll also help with all other aspects. The only thing he hasn't done on the farm is run the sprayer. He tried row-crop cultivating this summer, but didn't have much luck. Try again next summer.

The most important thing other than safety, is for you to know now that he WILL screw up...and likely break something. Be prepared for this and make it a learning opportunity rather than react emotionally and chew his butt. We learn most of our lessons from mistakes, not successes.

And tell him to have fun...farming is supposed to be fun!
