I missed as much high school my senior year as was possible to help in field, with the notice if it affected my grades, I'd be done in the field and back in the class room. The choice was left to me. Interestingly, My GPA from my senior year brought the three previous up. The previous years I'd help now and then, but rarely missed school.

Went to community college for two years, had a job selling shoes, the more hours I worked, the better the grades.

University of Minnesota let me pass. I didn't have a job, just got by to get it over with, not proud of my grades, but it doesn't show them on my diploma.

My cousins class ring from the Air Force academy had an engravement that said "grades aren't everything". I'd put his accomplishments up against most I know.

I have no advice to you.

Thank you for teaching your 13 year old things not taught in the classroom. Your child will have skills above his class mates. Wish more parents were like you.

Kudos.

I think that is a bunch of bolagna that if kids miss school they get credits taken away. As long as you turn your work in and have good grades i think that you should get full credit no matter how many days you miss.
