Your plan is exactly the one I used with my boys and it worked well! My only advice enjoy every minute of it. My youngest just left for college this fall, although we had harvest nearly done. My dad and two boys each run a combine and my wife and I haul grain. I agree on letting them take some days off from school too (can't think of much better education). Mine did for harvest, seeding and shipping calves. I love to see the young people involved!
