The Palouse North Idaho | I have a 2007 TD95D with cab and NH FEL. It is a rugged reliable machine but there are some quirks in the design that keep me from rating it an excellent utility tractor. I am big on ease of maintenance.
My big issues are the clutch and brake adjustments. First of all the owners manual and the service manual have different directions for adjusting the clutch. Next, the access for adjustment requires that you have an extra u-joint in your arms plus three hands! Access for adjusting the brakes on the left side is nil. The only way I can see to make these common adjustments, both clutch and brakes, relatively easy is to drop the fuel tank and it appears to me that was design intent. If anyone has a better way, I'd like to hear it.
The other issue I had was engine oil refill. The operators manual and the service manual all state that it takes 3 gallons US (12quarts US) and warns about over fill. So the first oil and filter change I put 12 quarts in and when I place the dipstick in, it reads 3/4 " above the Max mark even after running for several hours. I call the dealer who checks the dip stick part number and verifies it is correct. The dealer calls NH and they say only fill to max mark on the dipstick. That turns out to be just over 9 quarts. For something as important as this, you'd thing they could get it correct!
Having vented about these issues, this model of tractor is rugged and reliable and with mostly mechanical controls, electronic and wiring/connector problems are virtually non-existent. the FEL is a dream. If not for the maintenance issues I would rate it as an excellent tractor. As it is, I'd give it a very good rating. | |
