Subject: RE: Groundwater

Hi Pat, Myrna here. Just a heads up-- I have absolutely no political agenda. I've been interested in the "water wars" of the west for quite some time, so when I quit my job recently I decided I wanted to learn more about it and see if this was really an issue and if there were any possible solutions that could be proposed to congress. I'm not against any of you guys and, in fact, think your role in feeding the entire country is imperative to our survival. The only agenda I might have is making sure we have food and water in the future, as well as jobs for people like you who maintain our survival.

The reason why I'm reaching out to Ag folks isn't to get a soundbite for an already existing story. If that was the case, it would be way easier to take some of the bites other media outlets have already published. I am genuinely interested in what people like you, who live and breathe ag, think about the water issues, and if there's anything I could do to help.

I wish you well.
