Most fields in our county are square. (At least with in a few rows). The chain gang (during the homestead act) that surveyed the county to the north west of me (Turner county) must have been alcoholics, or a lot of homesteaders moved the stakes. There ain't a square quarter (common to have a 180 or a 140 acre quarter) over there....every mile the roads zig and zag.
