Manchester, OK | Yes the grain was even sticky. I wasn't in the harvest field but my dad said when he started cutting it was mainly bad on the leaves but then we got a rain and by the time we were done they were in the head. I thought about the $7000 dollars i saved by not spraying but after spending the afternoon in the back of the combine and eyes were about to swell shut from all the backwash...I really didn't care.
Looking back I probably should have desiccated the milo at around 30% before the aphids really moved in. That would lost some bushels too as we had rain and wind after I would have sprayed and it could have all fallen down.
