Subject: RE: No tilling soys into corn stalks

Mid-Michigan
I've tried no-tilling into cornstalks and I just didn't like it for a variety of reasons so I went back to disc-chiseling (I'm not crazy about this method either). Recently one of my neighbors started discing his stalks in the fall then planting into that stale seed bed in the spring. His beans look great. He has two big, new case/IH discs (he's is a big farmer). Those new discs leave no center ridge and no disc mark on the outsides. It looks to be a very good system and fast compared to a disc chisel.
