Sir,
  If you'd like to do some recreational tillage or messing around, or happen to have a tractor that needs some hours on it, I reckon there's value in that pastime.  If you want soybeans, just go plant. 
  I would say, though, that although this worked for me on 30" and WI silt loam, I have read on NAT that some soils and conditions just need some type of tillage.  So, as always, try to find what works on your soil.  Good luck.  Stetts
