I just recognize mother nature has a bigger say in the long term average production of a field.

Crop insurance shields some of this risk and may disillusion some into thinking what average production of a field is.

I do keep up with latest genetics out there

But yes, you do sum it up well, a lot of management time is wasted on seed selection
