Leesburg, Ohio | We plan to try some from Pioneer. I have the quote in front of me. Your $68/unit price is very close, but that is full retail. No one pays retail that I know of. Our price will start with a "4". We have seen them in a Pioneer research plot just a few days ago, and they look good, and the weed control is good.
I have no problem with anyone trying them, or not trying them, or not ever wanting them on their farm.
I do have a huge problem with people trying to dictate to others what we can or can't do on our own farms. I have a huge problem with people who say we should not be allowed to use modern technology that has been proven safe and effective, if makes us more productive, uses less natural resources, and makes safe, reasonably priced food more plentiful.
The border issue has not been made clear yet, since the label is not out. We will deal with that. We do not plan to apply the new DuPont dicamba product late in the season over the top if not absolutely necessary. Those few operations in the south that have gone rogue and applied generic dicamba on these new beans are giving us all a bad name in the public's eye, and with EPA.
I think one advantage of this product for us is being able to spray burndown in the spring right up to the day of planting, or even after planting, without having to wait a week to plant after applying a 2,4-D mix. | |
