I have a different cone type brand of spreader for seeding oddball stuff.
I try to set it for 1/2-3/4 of what I want (based on the charts) do some and see if I get close, adjust from there. Then I can finish up cleaning out when I get done on the light part I started on.
They are a little bit of guesswork anyhow, and hate to start out too heavy, you can't go back from there.....
