Subject: RE: Starting to do my own soil sampling

I know it's not whats "recommended", but I've done my own research on taking soil samples on 2.5 acre grids. I found that I could get just as accurate of a sample if I use a sharpshooter (spade/shovel) and take 3 "cores", as apposed to 10-12 cores with a probe. Not recommending you do this, but It's worked for me, and you can FLY through a field. I did 2.5 ac grids on 12,000 acres in just under 2 months. By myself.
