It is somthing to do with emisions and will do it now and then. A nieghbor has one and said it gets bad milage when it goes though its "Emptying Exhaust Valve" cycle.
My brother-in-law has one, says it gets bad mileage all the time and worse when it goes through the "emptying exhaust valve" (Regen) cycle. He's comparing to a 2002 w/ 7.3.
He says stop & go driving with lots of idling will cause Regen to happen more often than will highway driving.
