NC KS | I would say that the nice little story is BS. There is very little difference in engine rpm-pto speed and proper voltage output of a generator. I don't see any way it could be varying the engine throttle enough to save any measureable amount of fuel and keep the generator outputting the proper voltage unless the pto was CVT driven.. If you want to save fuel running a generator, you run a 540 generator on a bigger tractor with 1000 rpm. If the engine is man enough, it will do just fine running the generator at 1100 engine rpm. Higher electric loads would only fluctuate engine rpm 20-30. | |
