it's doable, in the limited experience we have had with general contractors we had just as well done it ourselves anyway.

as far as the electrical, electricity is electricity. the controllers are pretty cut and dried, ie.  curtain controller goes here, gets wired this way, etc.   the bigger issue will be if your electric guy is familiar with code and can wire satisfactorily to pass inspection. 



I would agree with Johnny, from the two builders we've had experience with, the general contractor never follows through with actually overseeing anything and might as well done it ourselves. There are a lot of amish and mennonite crews around that would do the job for much less. If you have some existing buildings in your area I would ask around and you could probably hire the electrical and cement guys independently..
