| Was just curious if anyone has subbed out the construction of a new hog barn themselves and saved any money? Built our first with the company that was recommended by the company we raise hogs for. The construction work was fine but nothing special. Would like to build ourselves on the next barn if I could save $50,000 or more and get the payments down. When you break down the different parts you have excavation which I took care of on the first barn anyway, concrete, building structure and insulation, electrical and equipment. Electrical is the only one I am not real confident on being able to find someone with experience with the type of controllers that we have. Any experiences would be appreciated. Looking to put up a 2400 head tunnel ventilated barn. | |
