Pete, I gotta laugh about that- this spring a couple friends and I flew down to the St. Louis show, which had the CF-18 and Snowbirds both performing.  One of them had never been to an airshow or seen an afterburner jet fly before, he had ambled off to buy a beer and was in the portapotty taking a pee when the CF-18 launched- he told us later he didn't know what the hell was going on until he stepped outside!  He's still raving about it, though.
