When ever I've had corn get frosted and killed before black layer you will have high moisture corn till Christmas or later. By March it will drop its moisture and pick up a couple extra pounds of test weight. If snow is deep you will lose any wears that get buried by drifts as they will fall off. I hope you guys don't get that cold as I am worried about tomorrow night here. We are supposed to get into the 30's and that scares me this time of year. My corn is delayed due to wet conditions all summer. Gdd's state that it should be at or very near black layer but it isn't close yet. I need 10-15 more days to get to black layer. Our forecast looks good if we can get past tomorrow night.

Yes my gdu says I should be blacklayer ed or dang close also. If we can escape tonite I think it will make it to black layer as 10 day looks good.

Yes i expect a frost before Sept 15th probly 2-3years out of 5. Got this in 2 weeks ahead of the last couple years. Had good moisture then turned dry for 6 weeks and thought I would be way ahead of schedule but guess not so much.
