For you other guys, The 3116 "intake manifold" ( we actually call it the valve cover BASE) has a gasket underneath of it that holds the turbocharged air(boost) in. Part of that gasket is on the outside in the engine, BUT 40 % of the gasket is internal (by the rocker arms). Now, with loose bolts internally, the boost(incorrectly entering the crankcase system)would look like excessive blowby and was probably overwhelming the crankcase breather and also carrying oil out of the breather hose. This is probably why his was losing more oil under heavy loads=more boost was entering the crankcase area thru loose bolts and the gasket was leaking or a section was blown internally. | |
