Central Ga | It is very competitive here, much more so than even twenty years ago. Within a five mile radius of my backyard there are twenty nine different operations competing for land. Fortunately for the most part there is not a cutthroat environment. With a few exceptions most people are content to wait patiently for land to change hands. When a farm does change hands it is never publicly known until the dealing is over and done. It is always very quiet. Normally a landlord will approach a single prospect and that is all there is to it. Pretty much the same way with land sales. Public land sales are pretty rare here. Occasionally an owner will take sealed bids. Most sales are quietly handled between the landowner and the buyer.
