I see both sides of the rent issue. My wife inherited some land halfway across the state and has had to reduce the rent to keep her tenant. But the property taxes are climbing steadily. Nebraska has about the worst property taxes on farmland as anywhere. Currently half of her rent is eaten up by property taxes.
