Subject: Re: Need advice on round balers

My preference for Silage bales would be a 4' wide baler. We normally bale between 600-1000 silage bales/year with a standard CaseIH RBX 462, which would be the same as a New Holland BR 750, I belive. I haven't seen where anyone really says that the silage kits are worth the added expense. However, the endless belts on the New Holland would easily be worth it. A 4x6 baler lets you make 4-5ft silage bales and make a 4x6 round bale of dry hay that still gets a decent amount of hay in a bale. If you aren't opposed to spending money, you might even look into a 3x3 or 3x4 square baler. The process a lot faster depending on how your neighbor would be feeding and a good used one will be about the same money as a new round baler. Lot's of advantages.
