Subject: White Splitter Planter

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
I've got a 5100/6900 planter that I am very happy with in the field.

That said............

Every winter in the shop I would like to throw a match under it. It's the hardest thing to work on I have ever seen...it's over the back bar...under the back bar...over the front ...under the front, and when you get there, you are sitting on one hand, the other arm is trapped over your head, and the wrench you want is just out of reach under your left foot. I guess the problem is... I DON"T HAVE A 15" BODY...more like the old horse days I need 42" rows.

How big of a deal is it to get the splitter off the back....all the brackets...air pipes and chain? I only plant beans with it so I have never removed it. I'm sure some one out there takes these splitters off for corn every year. How long does it take to remove and reinstall? Any tips/suggestions?

....... TIA ...........................................Mark
