"Vistam" navy bean maybe You know, it might have been Vista, but for some reason that doesn't seem like the one I was thinking of. The variety we liked didn't really pull good, generally we pulled them twice with the knife pullers. It was one of the earlier navy varieties bred with an upright architecture. Bothers me now, I'm going to have to root through some old records.
We only grew it for 2 or 3 years, it wasn't liked by those that put them in plastic bags to go on a grocery store shelf as it wasn't a bright white seed coat like others. Couldn't imagine a canner caring about that, but I suppose you have to keep everyone happy.
