N. IL | Plates are likely stuck with field residue. You can have them off in a minute or two to clean them. Take the gathering chain off the side that moves and a couple bolts hold the plate. It should come off fairly easy. They need to be cleaned out every year. Lube the moving surface to avoid rust. They are okay but not as easy as the 2208 deck plates that didn't require any service. It's just something that you have to do on the RD heads. It's pretty easy once you figure it out.
They're tough heads, just a different system. | |
