central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook. | have you replaces the twine disc Springs? one of the causes for knots pulling out (short tails) is the flat spring on the twine disc. replace that spring and tighten it down until only a penny will slide between the top of the spring and the frame. make sure it is timed correctly as well. I can take a picture for you today if you like.
it's not pulling apart because it is hanging up on the bill hook, is it? that's a totally different problem...but if you've already changed the bill hook and set the tension right there that's probably ok.
