Subject: Easiest resize tool ever

Eastern Ontario

Picture Resizer 3.0

Download the program from the above link.  It's a tiny application. No problem for Dial Up.

Resizing your pics is as easy as pie.

Using Image Resizer 3.0 1.jpg

Simply click on the picture with your left mouse button

and drag it over top of the "PhotoResize400" icon.

Let go of the mouse button.

Uncheck the "Always ask before open........" box. (This window will only come up this one time .)

Click "Run"

This window will now come up. Don't worry about it. It is only the program working in Dos.

Simply press the "Enter" key on your keyboard when it asks you to do so.

You will now see the resized picture nearby.

You can identify it by looking at the file name. The resized picture will have a 3 digit number attached to the filename. In this case it is "Testpic-400"

You are now ready to post it to AgTalk.

You can also resize a whole folder of pics by dragging the folder over the program icon.

You may have noticed how the program icon got into the "My Pictures" folder.  You simply right click over the original program icon on the desktop and choose "copy". You then go to your "My Pictures" folder  and right click in a empty spot and choose "Paste". You now have the program icon much closer to the task. You can drag it anywhere you like or you can create as many copies of it as you want. They all work the same.

The resized pictures will be placed right next to the original within the same folder.

A neat Modification to the program

Notice the name of the program when you first downloaded it. It says PhotoResize400. The 400 is actually the resized dimension of the longest side of your pic. This can be changed by simply "renaming" the file name of the program.Using Image Resizer 3.0 new filename 6.jpg For example: You can rename it to Resize 600. The words don't matter, they can be anything. Just make sure you have the numbers at the end. In this case the longest end of your picture will be resized to 600 pixels. For all sakes and purposes it is recommended to keep it at a maximum of 600. That is plenty big and won't result in a file size above 100Kb (AgTalks limit).

You can rename a file by right clicking on the file and choosing "Rename" in the menu that opens up.

If you want to make it real easy on yourself, simply create multiple copies of the program and rename them each to a different value. That way you can choose the size of the resizing by dropping your pic over the apropriate icon.
