Scranton | Yep, because he is playing games. I want their best bid, I don't want to keep going back and forth trying to eek every dime out of them. I just want a fair bid.
I had an uncle and a good friend bidding on a farm. My friend would bid in increments of $100 / acre towards the end (private bid, not auction), and my uncle would bid $5/ac over the other guy each time. Finally, the seller just took my friend's bid without going back to my uncle. Later the uncle was whining because he never got a chance to counter. I told him he shouldn't have been screwing around trying to save a nickel, as it cost him the farm. | |
