SW Ohio | We have a little concrete, some gravel and some dirt, it needs to be high and dry first no matter what. we use pallets, hard to find just the right size to match the accumulator, and for a few years now put plastic down under the pallets, bottom bales bring same money as the rest.
If going new make it tall and a little airy, twelve layers high is not too high, more if you can lean the stacks together, but need a telehandler to reach that high. We put roll up curtains on the open fronts, keeps sun and rain out but still open to move bales. shallow and long works better than deep and narrow if you want to keep different flavors separated. | |
