NW IL | Either you or your agent messed up. If you/agent put EU on the application, you get EU unless it does not qualify(as said before, 20/20 rule, etc.) I had an instance in the past when I listed EU for a crop/county in which I did not qualify. When I got my schedule of insurance, it had an asterik next to that crop/acreage and said it did not qualify and was being reverted to optional units for that crop and county.
Get a new agent. Its easy.
If I had a dime for every crop insurance mistake I have seen, I wouldn't need to work again. A lot of agents cost a lot of guys a lot of money every year because they do not know what they are doing, but they are good guy and local, so they get the business. My agent is 2 hours away, drives his car to the farm I am at, and is the best I have found. They get 10%+ commission of your premium, you might as well get something out of them(knowledge, convenience).
