| We have had to level rough fields or fields with bad ridges from a disk that wasn't adjusted or run properly. I think a field cultivator does the best job at leveling, so you will first need to work it with a chisel plow or heavy disk to get the wheat straw broken up enough so the cultivator doesn't plug. A cultivator with 6" or 7" shank spacing and 9" sweeps will move quite a bit of dirt. Run it at least 4" deep and 6mph or faster at different angles. If the field has big disk ridges, a pull type grader blade or a land leveler will be necessary. I'm not sure if a land leveler would work here in SWND because of our rolling hills, and I'm pretty sure WV is also a bit hilly. |
