| Hi guys,
I know this has been hashed over a lot, but I have never seen this many pods before. I am in Minnesota and it has been very wet this year. Had pretty ideal planting conditions. Planted May 5th. Beans are squatting pretty good right now. I plant on 22 inch rows at a population of 185,000. Fertilize my beans based on yearly soil samples. I am counting where I can actually walk in the field 80-100 pods per plant. Most are are in the mid 80's. They are mostly 3 pod beans with 1-4, 4 pod beans per plant. Very few places I have pulled 40-50 pods per plant. What are you thinking the yields could be? I don't want to get my hopes up before harvest. I just hope they don't lodge flat. I have a little white mold, but not too bad also. | |
