Southeast Colorado | I'm too young to have had financial stakes back in the 80s, but Dad always told me that the ONLY money in farming then was the government payments. He said they were a pain to get because the set aside crap had him plowing up good crops at times (because the set-aside % wouldn't be established until well after planting time).........but the payments themselves were huge and fiscally impossible to turn down. | |
