Subject: RE: Electric motors, how to diagnose?

Ohio
I had that 2 months ago. Mine needed a new starter switch installed inside the motor. Sometimes mine wouldn't start but with a push on the pulley it would run but it sparked a lot inside the vents of the motor opposite the drive end. Should be no sparks from the starter switch when it is running. This starter switch allows the start capacitors to start motor turning and then disengages when up to speed. Cost me $75.00 at the motor shop.
