Subject: Re: JD 1790 tanks

I have an 04' and I cannot say that my tanks leak if it sets outside in the a hard wind and rain you may end up with a few kernels wet the bottom of each tank however it has never been a problem but in saying that I think they may have changed the design of the lid about that time frame I think the 03' had a lid similar to what liquid tanks have where it screws inside the frame and the newer one kinda have a lip on them to prevent or at least reduce the chance of water getting in, I am going out on a limb when saying this as I looked at a used one before I bought the 04' one new and I thought there was a difference but I could be wrong.
