Subject: Re: farmfans dryers

Leesburg, Ohio
Several around here. Have a good dealer about 20 miles away. Bought a used '70's model AB250 (250 bu batch) about 1992, and ran it until '04. Had some issues with the old mechanical timers, but ran good after switching to digital controls. The dealer just sold it to someone in Md. this fall.

Bought a new 2125 continuous-flow in '04. Computer controlled. A few software glitches in the early versions, but factory rep is always helpful and a phone call away. Most issues fixed over the phone right away. Factory replaced the whole control panel, computer, outside box, and all in the second year. Been very reliable since. Take away dry grain system is a Farm Fans Convey Air rated at 700 bu/hr, but been getting 800-900/hr with our fairly short runs. Haven't been able to catch the dryer with an 8 row combine if corn is below about 23%.

I think GSI dryers are a flat-out copy of Farm Fans. They copied them, and ended up buying the company. More Farm Fans around here than any other brand. Used to be alot of SuperB's, but don't see many now.
