Subject: RE: undercoating for vehicles good or bad

Undercoating and rustproofing used to be an effective tool for a new vehicle. Living here in road salt country though, we still see little rust through on cars anymore. The Big 3 finally learned after the 80's and started using better metal in their cars.
I think it is a waste of money now. Manufactuers warranty new cars for rust through 7yr/100k miles so they must be fairly certain of the sheet metal.
