We pick, husk, wash and bag about 7-8 ears per Ziploc bag. Push as much air out as you can and throw in deepfreeze. We try to eat it all within a few months. Seems fine to us, have done it this way for years. Takes up more room but the novelty is the corn on the cob. Bag some cut off corn as well.
