The best, fasts, easy's and the only way is to take the cab off and only have to split it from the engine. After the cab comes off take the rockshaft housing off, then the planetary shaft out the back and the planetary clutch pack. Worked on John Deere for the last 20 years and did the two split a couple times and then after that I took the cab off and that was the way to do that. The problem is for you having the lifting for the cab, be safe. There is two brackets that John Deere has to lift the cab off with a forklift, maybe your dealer will let you use them if you have a forklift. If you lift the cab from the top you will need a bracket that goes across when you take the two bolts out so that it lifts straight up.
