If I was transporting cornstalks that distance I'd hire someone to square bale them in big squares or round bale them. We used to have a Heston Model 10 and the 3pt carrier fork with the hydraulic arm that held the top in place. The loaves never compressed tight enough to keep wind from blowing the top off the stack while sitting in the field and more was lost moving them at tractor speeds. It was much easier to round bale cornstalks and move them with a bale spear than it was to use the stacker. Big squares are even easier to stack, to load, and you can haul them with a gooseneck trailer or semi flatbed with some decent tiedown straps.
