Brian- where are you located? They are all too common here in east central Iowa.
The reason they are probably always broke down is because those machines get run hard. It's usually custom work for seed corn and the operator is getting paid by the acre, so they drive as fast as they can to cover as many acres as possible. Not to mention there is a short window for certain hybrids to be taken out and a lot of acres to be cover. It's not uncommon to have two or three machines in one field. One thing with seed corn, when they say to plant, you plant, when they say to harvest, you harvest, no matter what you are doing.
