Subject: RE: hauling a backhoe

I agee with you on that. Several years ago I move a New Holland 555 backhoe few times with a Dodge 3500 flatbed 4 wheel drive diesel. I just haul it 15 or 16 miles one way. I haul it on a single wheel tandem flatbed trailer one time because that all I had around to haul it with at that time, next time I haul it with dual tandem flatbed trailer that I borrow from a neighbor. It was a heavy load behind my truck, man it belong to said it weight 16000 pounds, that to much weight for me on a long trip. Besides with that load I be max out on tag limits since mine were 26000 pounds. I since chip my Dodge diesel this summer to give me extra 60 horsepower which would help with pulling that much load now, I don't like hauling that much weight even for short trips. I get a bigger truck for that haul.
