Subject: hauling a backhoe

Farmland, IN
What kind of an outfit do I need to haul a full size backhoe from central IL to east-central IN? Can I go get this thing with a heavy 3/4 ton pickup and flatbed gooseneck trailer or am I asking for trouble with the DOT? I know the truck will handle it weightwise pretty easily, but I don't need any fines or court dates. If I go with a semi and drop deck trailer, do I need out of state stickers for something like this? Don't normally get to far from home, so I don't know much about this stuff, as far as the legality of it. Thanks, TA.
