| I used to think the same as you about Xmas vs Christmas. The gist of his message was that due to a high illiteracy rate of the population, religious persecution, combined with poor/unavailable writing instruments available in the middle ages the Xmas was easier and safer for persecuted Christians to write.
Sorry I don't have a better explanation, but it changed my view of Xmas vs Christmas. | |
