I do not follow exactly what you are looking for but an Archimedes screw is what I think of.  Google may have something to help.

I always thought that an Archimedes screw was a pipe, formed in a spiral as if it followed the outer edge of an auger flighting.  I wanted to build one that was wind driven to pump water from a pond to higher ground - drought "dampened" the idea.
