Subject: RE: Auger physics?

That would be super Chad. What I want to know is the physics of how the auger works in an enclosed housing. I know a few of the basic like the torque applied to the center drive determines the length ability etc., but I dont know and cant seem to find, is relations between flighting depth and pitch vs. speed and incline. Stuff like that. In a nutshell, my direct question for what I'm looking into, is can I use an auger to both convey flowable material, AND get the material to spiral in the same direction as the auger? These two requirements are opposing each other in my limited mind.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you.
