Hank, that is where we started with an IVT tractor. 7520 on a loader. It is the handiest tractor we have here IMO. I do everything I can with it. Dad has had a hard time getting used to it, but for things such as snow blowing, loader work, haying, hauling manure, etc. it can't be beat once you learn how to run it. The one application where it is tricky is with a hay mover. On a hay mover you want to set the engine RPM about 1200 and be able to vary your speed quickly. The IVT doesn't like that but if you're carefull you can make it work. Then being able to run down the road 20 mph at 1200 RPM is sure nice.

We rented an 8530 with IVT and the works this summer to pull our grain cart. That tractor was very nice to run and worked great on the grain cart, but we needed one at least that big (another 50 hp was better yet) and they cost quite a bit more than 4wd tractors. They do have a "come home" speed which I believe is at ~5.4 mph. I think that is where direct drive is located. At that point, the transmission should be 100% efficient and would beat a powershift I would think. I'd like to see a 9330 4wd with IVT and an air ride front axle.
