Why don't you guys buy $80-$100 a bag corn and raise same yields? Seems like only logical thing to do at these prices. I think the days of seed salesman selling the high price seed corn is over. JMO.

Lets do some figuring. A bag of seed planted at 34000 pop plants 2.3 acres. If you compare a $200 bag of seed that you get 160 bu yield to a $350 bag of seed that you have been getting 210 bushel yield from, the higher priced seed will pay you to plant it over the $200 bag. 160x 2.3 acres =368 bushel x $3 =$1104. $350 yields 210 bu x2.3=483 bu x$3=$1449. Take away the $150 difference in price of seed and you are $195 a bag better of spending the extra money for the better seed . Doesn't always turn out this way but a lot of times it does. The top soil pays to plant top seed most of the time though.
